Route - Sacramento to Quartzsite

We are planning to go to Quartzsite for the first time. We are concerned about snow that time of year. Does anyone have a suggested route from Sacramento to Quartzsite that is very unlikely to have snow on it ??

RE: my post keep getting marked with no new post

Pulsar I'm having a similiar issue in My Forums. None of my subscriptions ever reflect new posts. However, if I check the various threads out, there are new posts!!! So it's definitely not working. Brenda

RE: How are you and your RV during these times?

As retired folks (4 years), we thought we would be out there following wherever the road lead us. Reality is that we have done some short local (within 100 miles) trips - but find it increasingly difficult to park our recreation vehicle in front of our house preparing for a trip when some of our neighbors are facing foreclosures, losing their jobs and having trouble finding the $$$ to fill their gas tanks to get to work. RE: Banks Ram Air

Getting back to my original question.............. it seems that the overwhelming opinion is that the Banks Ram Air won't do much for the new three valve Ford V10. Am I correct in my assessment ??

RE: Maintenance in Sacramento area

Thanks to all for the advice. I am familiar with All Seasons RV in Yuba City. I have bought parts and supplies there, but have never had maintenance or repair done there. I will definitely keep them in mind......... they are very convenient to my location. To rvingboo: I am so sad to hear that Elk Grove Ford has closed. I have always taken my motor home (2004 Minnie Winnie, before the current Itasca) there for Ford specific maintenance and they were always helpful, courteous and reasonable. Times are really tough for so many folks now. It greatly saddens me to see so many good businesses closing.

Maintenance in Sacramento area

I live just North of Sacramento, near Marysville. Our usual motor home maintenance facility (La Mesa RV of Davis) has closed. I know that a lot of people absolutely hated La Mesa, but we always got excellent maintenance and repair support from them. We have a 2008 Itasca Sunrise, which will soon be out of warranty for the main chassis. I am now at a loss for who to go to for maintenance and repairs in the Sacramento area. I refuse to go to Village RV, since they treated us very shoddily the one and only time we went there........... and they were EXTREMELY rude. Has anyone had positive experiences with any maintenance/repair facilities in this area ?

RE: Banks Ram Air

Actually my coach is a 2008 Itasca Sunrise (gas), with the newer Ford V10. Although the tech talk is interesting, most of it was over my head and therefore, not terribly helpful.

30 Min Chicken & Broccoli Meal (Prev 15 Min)

This used to be called the 15 min chicken & broccoli recipe – but I’ve NEVER been able to cook it in that short a time! Thought folks might need a reminder about an old favorite with meat, carbs and veggies all in the same dish! 30 Min Chicken & Broccoli Meal Ingredients: 1 Tblsp Olive Oil 4 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breast Halves 1 can (10 ¾ oz) Campbell’s Cream of Chicken Soup Flour, Paprika, Salt & Pepper 2 Cups Minute White Rice, Uncooked 2 Cups Fresh Broccoli Florets ½ Onion 1. Coat chicken in flour, salt, pepper & paprika to taste. 2. Heat olive oil in skillet, sauté onion until opaque. 3. Add chicken and cook about 20 mins. Remove chicken. 4. Add soup & 1 ½ cups water. Add additional paprika & pepper and bring to a boil. 5. Stir in uncooked rice and broccoli. Top w/chicken. Cover, cook on low heat for 5 to 7 min or until cooked through. YUMMY!

RE: convection oven

Also, no preheating necessary. Why not? Our convection has a preheat setting. Happy camping!!! See ya'll down the road!!!:) My combo convection/micro oven always needs preheating as well. The instructions are that you choose preheat, the amount of heat, then choose which of the types of heat (convection, broil, etc.) and then the amount of time. Be sure to use your racks, if they come with it. Mine has two, a short one for baking and a taller one for broiling. (They go on top of the carousel.) It took a little time, but I'm feeling more confident every time we use our convection. Good luck!!!

RE: Generator Air vs. Dash Air

When doing the mountains and hills. Not using the engine air. Takes a little load off the engine. When we first started buying MH's we were told you save gas by using the generator PLUS it takes the load off the engine. After 6 years and our second MH with lots of experience in hot weather, we totally agree! Additionally, the engine air will not cool a 36 foot MH when it's HOT. Lastly, though - when it needs both dash and generator air, we use both without regard to the gas. It gets really HOT in the central valley of California and you do what you have to do to stay ahead of the heat.

RE: Labor Day Weekend Camping

We live in northern california and decided to go for the 3-day holiday with our kids and grandkids to a local (1 1/2 drive) CG. Was really fun even with almost ever site (over 350)filled with folks and kids! With the gas situation, we have paired down our trips, but can't give it up. PLUS, we really love the fall and early winter for RVing.

RE: Breakfast Casserole

Cruzette - it's probably because she half cooks the eggs before putting them together in the pan. Also, usually you leave everything overnight in order for the moist ingredients to be absorbed into the dry. This sounds like a great time snipper! Love it! Thanks for the recipe.

RE: Winnebago Sightseer purchase (?)

We're on our 2nd Winnebago product (2008 Itasca). Our 1st MH was a 27' class C Minnie Winnie. Our experience over these last 5 years is to go for the best - which as you can see in our estimation - still is Winnebago for quality. Our daughter and son purchased the 31' Sightseer with bunks and only has one wish - that they had gone with full body paint! Good luck and see ya on the road!

RE: Country Coach Veranda!!

I think that since RVs are enjoyed for a VARIETY of reasons - this veranda could appeal to some. It may not be the type of "RVing" that fits my bill - but I can readily see that for folks who are handicapped, they would be able to roll or ambulate out to this veranda or to lie on the couch indoors and be able to enjoy the huge outdoors via sliding doors instead of viewing out a smaller window. Or, it just may appeal to some because you can't tolerate the dust, etc. At any rate,I would hate to be rude about what others might find inviting - go for it!.

RE: Best Product to Keep Body Paint Pristine?

On a recent trip, a fellow motorhomer recommended a new product from Turtle Wax called ICE. Apparently it is not a wax, but a synthetic sealer of some sort. Anyone had any experience with it ?

Brazel's UltraPower Performance tune

Has anyone done the Brazel's UltraPower Performance tune ? I am not terribly mechanically inclined and am unsure about the difficulty of this procedure. Apparently they send you a programmer that allows you to reprogram your computer chip to get more horsepower, torque and a modest increase in mileage. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

RE: computer power chip

Nascarcruzin : What exactly did you do ? What engine do you have ? Did you get a significant power increase ? How was the hill climbing power effected ? Thanks for any info you can provide.

RE: THE ROAD CHEFS CROCK POT SLOPPY JOE'S

It looks like a good recipe and I'd like to try it, but I'm not familiar with shiner bock beer? Is this a typo or something special to your area of the country? Thanks!
